HTC launches HTC U24 Pro with three 50MP shooters
A brand-new mid-range smartphone has arrived. Meet the HTC U24 Pro, the latest Android smartphone by the Taiwanese tech company.
For years, HTC was a dominant player on the smartphone market. Back in 2009, it was HTC that introduced the HTC Dream, the very first Android phone.
But gradually, HTC lost its market share to companies such as BlackBerry, Huawei and Motorola. In 2019, the company launched the HTC Exodus, a ‘cryptophone’ with pre-installed crypto apps with cryptocurrency traders as its core audience.
The last few years, HTC catapulted several low-end and mid-range devices. Last year’s model, the HTC U23 Pro, now gets a successor: the HTC U24 Pro.
HTC U24 Pro specifications
The mid-ranger has a 6.8 inch Full HD+ OLED display (1080 x 2436 pixels ) with a ppi density of 392. The panel has a variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz, Corning Gorilla Glass protection and an optical under display fingerprint sensor. The body is IP67 dust and water resistant, which means you can fully submerge the phone under water to a maximum of one meter.
The main feature of the HTC U24 Pro is its camera setup. In front it has a 50MP selfie camera. On the back, there are three cameras: a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultrawide lens. In order to shoot sharp pictures, HTC added both optical and electronic image stabilization.
The HTC U24 Pro is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, an octa-core CPU that runs up to 2.63 GHz. Under the hood you’ll find 12GB of RAM and 256GB of expendable storage. Furthermore, it packs a 4,600 mAh battery with wired up charging up to 60W, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, 3.5mm jack and USB type-C connector.
The HTC U24 Pro comes with Android 14 and Space Navy color option. The phone comes with a price tag of 564 euros (610 dollars). HTC hasn’t revealed when the HTC U24 Pro will be available in Europe and other parts of the world.
