Apple Intelligence available across Europe

Apple Intelligence is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users in the European Union. It also supports several new languages and is packed with additional features to safeguard European users’ privacy.
Apple has released Apple Intelligence as part of the iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 update.
Its features are accessible in numerous new languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese, as well as localized English for Singapore and India.
The release of Apple Intelligence in Europe comes with additional features, such as Priority Notifications. This helps users to stay on top of time-sensitive communications, the ability to create a memory movie on Mac computers by simply typing a description, and an added Sketch style in Image Playground that creates academic and highly detailed sketches.
Apple confirms that Apple Intelligence is compatible with its Vision Pro headset. The only downside is that it only works in U.S. English on this particular device. Among other things, Vision Pro users can proofread, rewrite, and summarize text using Writing Tools, and compose text from scratch using ChatGPT in Writing Tools.
“Apple Intelligence marks an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI and is designed to protect users’ privacy at every step,” Apple promises in a press release. For example, Apple Intelligence offers on-device processing. For requests that require access to larger models, Private Cloud Compute extends the privacy and security of the iPhone into the cloud to unlock even more intelligence.
Apple Intelligence is Apple’s brand name for artificial intelligence and was announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2024. Apple Intelligence performs most tasks on a user’s device. For the harder tasks, Apple uses cloud servers, which are designed to keep users’ privacy and end-to-end encryption in mind.
Apple Intelligence has been available for U.S. citizens since last year. The release in Europe has been postponed because Apple was worried that the Digital Markets Act’s interoperability requirement would weaken the integrity of its product. In addition, user privacy and data security could have been compromised.
All Mac computers and iPads with an M-series processor will support Apple Intelligence. If you’re an iPhone user, you will have to own an iPhone 15 Pro (Max) or newer.
