RARBG is one of the most powerful torrent sites. But recently the cases of torrent sites blocking have become more and more frequent. So I found all RARBG proxies/mirrors, checked them for originality and published a general list in this article. I also made a review of the best RARBG alternatives in case of other problems.

It is possible that by the time this article is published, the main domain of the second most visited torrent site in the world RARBG rarbg.to has already been blocked.

It is also not uncommon for a URL to be blocked at the ISP level.

In these cases, there is a solution. Moreover, it isn’t one.

RARBG is a website that downloads and uploads video files, music, software, and games using BitTorrent technology. In other words, it's a torrent site.

RARBG was founded in Bulgaria in 2008 and was initially targeted only at Bulgarian users. Very quickly, it reached the global level and entered the five largest similar resources with tens of millions of monthly visitors.

RARBG peaked in popularity in 2018, the site's traffic exceeded 100 million people a month.

The graph shows the level of interest (frequency of the search term “RARBG”) from 2004 to the present, as measured by Google Trends. As you can see, the popularity of the site grew until the end of 2018, but then began to decline sharply, returning to the level of 2010-2015.

Why is the site so popular?

Obviously, this has to do with the type of content that it helps download and how it does that.

RARBG is focused primarily on video content. These are movies, XXX, TV Shows. But in addition to that, the site has a good collection of games, software, and music torrents.

But this isn’t the most important thing either.

I think the site is more user-friendly than most competitors. Take a look at the screenshot:

What's the first thing that catches your eye? Pictures of the preview of films. It is the visibility that is an important advantage of RARBG. Plus a handy side menu on the left.

In my opinion, it is less visual and user-friendly for using on Android TV than YTS Torrents, but it is still significantly more convenient than almost all other competitors.

By the way, I associate the drop in RARBG attendance in 2019 with the YTS upgrade, which greatly improved the visual component.

This is the main domain of the RARBG site. Has been working since 2015.

It may not be available in some countries. I am aware of problems accessing rarbg.to from India and Belgium. Use a VPN or the mirrors below to bypass restrictions.

RARBGTO.ORG  

One of the main RARBG proxies. Registered back in 2015 by Gransy s.r.o., presumably located in the Czech Republic.

It works stably and has not been blocked. Great for creating a private proxy using the above method.

RARBGMIRROR.COM

The domain name speaks for itself. This is the oldest RARBG proxy. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is located in the .com domain zone. Today almost all torrent sites available through this domain zone are already down.

For this reason, it is better to choose a different proxy.

RARBGPRX.ORG

Works in 2018. Nice fast proxy through which 100% of RARBG torrent files are available. It is known for certain that this isn’t fake - its registrar Gransy s.r.o. (like all the above mirrors).

RARBGTOR.ORG

Another domain registered by Gransy s.r.o., but already in 2018. Many torrent sites at this time began to actively create spare mirrors since in 2016-2018 there was a peak in blocking sites that contribute to the illegal distribution of intellectual property (video, software, etc.).

The best torrent site with movies. Incredibly user-friendly interface with an emphasis on the visual component. In my opinion, it is even better than RARBG, which also pays attention to the presence of previews for video files.

But YTS has gone further. It followed the path of streaming sites and began to publish not only long file names that mention video quality and some other parameters but also created full information pages with IMDb ratings, links to subtitles, and screenshots of movie frames.

You don’t have to puzzle over how to find this or that file, since the website was created specifically for the most convenient torrenting. A well-designed menu of categories and special pages with the most popular files for the day, week, month help to navigate more easily popular films and video news, to keep abreast of trends.

3. The Pirate Bay

• Number of torrents: > 1 million
• Year of foundation: 2003

One of the largest torrent sites. It has a huge collection of materials of all possible topics. The section of video files contains collections of films and TV programs of the 20th century, as well as blockbusters and novelties of TV companies and streaming operators.

The site has a classic design and functionality. Due to this, it is inferior to RARBG and YTS, but there are many active torrents on it that you won’t find on competitors.

4. EZTV

• Number of visitors: > 18 million per month
• Topics:  TV shows
• Maximum number of peers: > 3.000
• Number of torrents: > 500k
• Year of foundation: 2005

Like RARBG, EZTV focuses primarily on video content. It is especially suitable for watching TV programs. It isn’t so convenient and intuitive, but it also has its advantages:

If you love anime, then this torrent site is the perfect replacement for RARBG. Only Nyaa has such an extensive collection of anime torrents. Moreover, this isn’t only movies, but also music, pictures, live-action, and even software.

Don't be intimidated by the Japanese characters in the screenshot. There are many files on the site with translations into English and other languages. Moreover, there are even special categories for this.

I recommend Nyaa to all anime lovers even with RARBG running.

6. Torrentz2

• Number of visitors: > 20 million per month
• Topics: All about the anime
• Maximum number of peers: > 4.000
• Number of torrents: >100k
• Year of foundation: 2016

Torrentz2 is a basic search engine for torrents that scans all the torrent trackers in its database for your query and shows you sites with releases of interest. You can then download the torrent directly from the site hosting the file or magnet link. This is a good alternative solution for when your main torrent tracker does not have the content you want.

The downside is that Torrentz2's search tool is not as good as the other sites I have tested. However, if you're willing to spend a little time manually sorting through the results, you can definitely find a large number of giveaways that match your query.

Like many other sites on this list, Torrentz2 shows ads, pop-up messages and fake links that lead to suspicious sites.

How not to get caught on a fake RARBG

Like all major torrent platforms, RARBG has tons of fake proxies. I studied more than 20 such addresses and did not see a single good site among them.

How to avoid cheating?

There are three ways to keep yourself safe and secure yourself:

Whatever torrent site you use, the files are downloaded using the torrent client. Any torrent client works through the BitTorrent protocol, the use of which is prohibited in some countries. For downloading files using this protocol, liability is provided in the form of fines.

In other countries, where the laws are more loyal, there is a danger of getting hurt during the next investigation of the torrent platform. This can happen after analyzing the logs of the arrested servers. These logs record the time and IP address of the visitor.

RARBG is by far one of the most stable torrent sites out there. Its main domain was registered more than 5 years ago and it is still online.

But this doesn’t guarantee that the site won’t be down.
